Five ratio families in PrintPack
- 2:3: the shape of 4 × 6, 8 × 12 and 12 × 18 inch prints.
- 3:4: the shape of 6 × 8, 9 × 12 and 12 × 16 inch prints.
- 4:5: the shape of 8 × 10 and 16 × 20 inch prints.
- 11:14: the shape of an 11 × 14 inch print.
- ISO A: approximately 1:√2, used by the A paper series. Standard dimensions include millimetre rounding, so check a print provider’s exact requirements.
Landscape reverses width and height: 2:3 becomes 3:2. These examples describe proportions, not a guarantee that your source has enough pixels for every listed size.
Calculate a size from real pixels
Divide each pixel dimension by the intended pixels per inch. At 300 PPI, a 3000 × 4500 pixel file gives 10 × 15 inches. Cropping can reduce either dimension, so use the output dimensions shown in the preview and manifest.
One source may need different compositions
Review faces, signatures, text and borders in every crop. A 4:5 source does not turn into 2:3 without cropping, adding space or rearranging the design. PrintPack offers cropping only. Square and 5:7 outputs are outside this beta.
